Trust the Current
Trust the Current
This painting was inspired by an unforgettable day in Sri Lanka, swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear turquoise waters. As schools of fish parted around me and sunlight danced through the sea, a turtle appeared so close I could almost touch it. I followed it slowly, watching as it drifted with an effortless calm, completely unhurried. As the sun began to set, everything softened into gold and blue, and the moment felt almost unreal in its beauty. ✨
The two turtles reflect that experience of following and being led, if moving gently behind something wiser and more grounded. Turtles carry a quiet presence and remind us that life does not need to be rushed, that there is safety in trusting the pace of nature and your own inner rhythm. The palm leaves and warm light echo the closing of the day, holding that feeling of awe, connection and deep calm.
This painting is about surrendering to the moment, trusting the journey and allowing yourself to be guided rather than pushed. It captures a sense of stillness and wonder, where time slows and the world feels both vast and deeply intimate.
