The Deep of Night

Jellyfish are such mesmerising creatures. They seem delicate and otherworldly, yet they’ve survived in our oceans for hundreds of millions of years.

The Deep of Night is inspired by the strange, dreamlike quality of the deep ocean - jellyfish drifting through darkness, illuminated against layers of deep blue. There’s something about the ocean depths that gives me the same feeling as looking into the night sky; both are vast, mysterious and filled with things we can only imagine.

The jellyfish become little lights within that darkness. This piece is about finding beauty in the unknown, and the idea that even within darkness, there can still be light.
