Octopuses have an extraordinary ability to adapt, changing their colours and patterns in response to the world around them.
Beneath it All reflects on the ways we do the same — adapting, changing and responding to different people, places and experiences. It’s something I recognise in myself, having learned to adapt to many different environments throughout my life.
But beneath all those layers of change, there’s a deeper question: who are we underneath it all?
Part of my Ocean Wonders series, this circular painting explores identity, adaptation and the parts of ourselves that remain beneath the surface.
