I’ve always been afraid of sharks and would often have dreams of falling from cliffs or the sky straight into shark-filled waters.
But after watching ‘The Shark Whisperer’ documentary, it opened up a completely different perspective for me, one that felt more grounded in respect than fear. Not long after, I had another dream. This time I was underwater with them swimming around me, and instead of panic there was this deep sense of calm. I just remember feeling completely present, aware and in awe of them.
Since then I’ve felt more curious than afraid. More open. It makes me think about facing fears…what happens when we stop resisting something, and allow ourselves to be present with it.
